Our search for the perfect grapes leads to delicious wines with richly nuanced flavors.
"Every year in the Central Coast is a vintage year - just not in every vineyard," says winemaker David Hopkins. The trick is to find the best grapes from the right vineyards to get the flavors that make exceptional wines.
To do this, David spends a lot of time in the vineyards up and down the Central Coast, talking with growers and searching for grapes that will give him a diverse "spice box" of flavors. Back in the winery, he blends small batches of different vineyard lots together to bring out their best flavor characteristics.
